Baccarat Rules

Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards in a shoe. Cards than are of a value less than 10 are counted at their printed number while at the same time ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each equal to 1. Wagers are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual individuals; they merely depict the two hands to be given out).

2 hands of two cards will then be given out to the ‘banker’ … ‘player’. The score for each hand is the sum total of the 2 cards, but the 1st digit is dropped. For eg, a hand of 7 … five results in a score of 2 (sevenplusfive=12; drop the ‘one’).

A third card can be given out depending on the foll. guidelines:

- If the bettor or banker has a total of eight or 9, each players stand.

- If the player has 5 or less, he hits. bettors stand otherwise.

- If bettor stands, the banker hits of 5 or lesser. If the player hits, a chart is used in order to ascertain if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The greater of the two scores will be the winner. Winning bets on the banker pay out 19 to twenty (even odds less a 5 percent commission. Commission is tracked and cleared out when you leave the table so be sure to have funds left over before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay 1 to one. Winning bets for tie customarily pay 8 to 1 and sometimes 9 to one. (This is a crazy bet as ties will occur lower than one every 10 hands. Definitely don’t try laying money on a tie. Still, odds are appreciably better – nine to one vs. 8 to one)

When played correctly, baccarat offers fairly good odds, apart from the tie wager ofcourse.

Baccarat Strategy

As with all games, Baccarat has some common misconceptions. One of which is very similar to a misconception of roulette. The past is surely not a predictor of future happenings. Tracking of prior results on a chart is undoubtedly a complete waste of paper as well as an insult to the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.

The most common and probably most successful tactic is the 1-3-two-6 scheme. This method is deployed to boost payouts and cutting back risk.

Begin by gambling 1 unit. If you win, add 1 more to the two on the table for a total of three on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have six on the table, take away four so you have two on the third gamble. If you win the 3rd gamble, add two to the 4 on the table for a sum total of 6 on the fourth bet.

If you lose on the first bet, you suck up a loss of one. A win on the 1st bet quickly followed by loss on the 2nd will create a loss of 2.
