Baccarat Rules
Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards. Cards which are of a value less than 10 are said to be worth their printed number and on the other hand ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each given a value of 1. Wagers are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual contenders; they merely appear as the two hands to be dealt).
2 hands of two cards shall then be dealt to the ‘banker’ as well as ‘player’. The score for each hand shall be the total of the 2 cards, but the first digit is dumped. For eg, a hand of 7 and 5 results in a tally of two (sevenplusfive=12; drop the ‘1′).
A 3rd card can be given out depending on the foll. protocols:
- If the bettor or banker has a score of 8 or 9, both players stand.
- If the gambler has five or less, he/she hits. bettors stand otherwise.
- If bettor stands, the banker hits of five or lesser. If the bettor hits, a chart is used to decide if the banker stands or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The bigger of the 2 scores is the winner. Victorious wagers on the banker pay out 19 to 20 (even money less a five percent commission. Commission is tracked and cleared out when you leave the table so ensure you have funds left over before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay one to one. Winner bets for tie customarily pays eight to 1 and occasionally nine to 1. (This is a terrible wager as ties occur less than 1 every ten hands. Avoid betting on a tie. Nevertheless odds are generously better – 9 to 1 vs. eight to one)
When played correctly, baccarat offers pretty good odds, away from the tie bet of course.
Baccarat Tactics
As with just about all games, Baccarat has some common myths. One of which is very similar to a roulette myth. The past is not an indicator of future results. Staying abreast of old outcomes on a chart is definitely a total waste of paper … an insult to the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.
The most accepted and almost certainly most successful tactic is the one-3-2-6 scheme. This schema is employed to amplify winnings and minimizing risk.
commence by wagering 1 unit. If you win, add 1 more to the 2 on the table for a total of three on the second bet. If you win you will have six on the table, remove four so you have 2 on the third bet. If you win the third wager, add 2 to the 4 on the table for a sum of six on the fourth wager.
If you don’t win on the initial bet, you suck up a loss of one. A win on the 1st bet followed up by loss on the second brings about a loss of 2. Wins on the 1st two with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the fourth mean you breakeven. Attaining a win on all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of 10. This means you can lose the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
