Punto Banco Regulations
Baccarat chemin de fer is gambled on with eight decks in a dealing shoe. Cards below ten are counted at face value while at the same time Ten, Jack, Queen, King are zero, and Ace is 1. Wagers are made on the ‘bank’, the ‘player’, or for a tie (these are not actual people; they simply represent the two hands to be dealt).
Two cards are given to both the ‘banker’ and ‘player’. The total for each hand is the sum of the two cards, however the first number is discarded. e.g., a hand of 5 and 6 has a value of 1 (five plus 6 equals 11; drop the 1st ‘one’).
A third card can be given out depending on the rules below:
- If the player or banker achieves a value of eight or 9, both players stand.
- If the player has less than 5, he takes a card. Players otherwise stay.
- If the player stands, the bank hits on a total less than 5. If the gambler takes a card, a guide is used to determine if the house stands or takes a card.
Punto Banco Odds
The bigger of the 2 totals wins. Winning bets on the banker pay out 19 to 20 (even payout less a 5% rake. Commission are tracked and cleared out once you leave the table so be sure to have cash around just before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay 1:1. Winning wagers for tie frequently pay 8:1 but on occasion 9:1. (This is a awful wager as ties happen less than 1 in every 10 hands. Be wary of putting money on a tie. Although odds are substantially greater for 9:1 vs. 8 to 1)
Gambled on correctly baccarat chemin de fer provides relatively good odds, apart from the tie wager of course.
Baccarat Method
As with all games punto banco has some familiar misunderstandings. One of which is similar to a false impression in roulette. The past is not a prophecy of future events. Keeping score of past outcomes on a sheet of paper is a waste of paper and an affront to the tree that was cut down for our paper needs.
The most familiar and almost certainly the most acknowledged course of action is the one-three-two-six technique. This plan is used to pump up winnings and minimizing risk.
Begin by betting one chip. If you succeed, add one more to the two on the game table for a total of 3 chips on the second bet. If you win you will hold 6 on the game table, remove 4 so you are left with 2 on the 3rd bet. If you succeed on the third bet, deposit 2 on the four on the table for a total of six on the 4th bet.
If you do not win on the 1st bet, you take a loss of 1. A win on the initial bet followed by a loss on the second creates a hit of two. Success on the first 2 with a defeat on the third gives you with a profit of two. And success on the 1st 3 with a hit on the fourth means you break even. Winning at all 4 rounds leaves you with twelve, a gain of 10. This means you are able to give up the 2nd wager 5 instances for each successful run of 4 bets and in the end, balance the books.
