Rules of Baccarat

Baccarat Standards

Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards. Cards which are valued less than ten are valued at face value meanwhile ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each equal to 1. Wagers are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual players; they merely depict the 2 hands to be dealt).

Two hands of 2 cards are then dealt to the ‘banker’ … ‘player’. The score for any hand shall be the sum of the two cards, but the first digit is dumped. For example, a hand of seven … 5 results in a total score of 2 (sevenplus5=twelve; drop the ‘one’).

A 3rd card can be given out depending on the following regulations:

- If the gambler or banker has a score of 8 or 9, each gamblers stand.

- If the gambler has 5 or less, he/she hits. Players stand otherwise.

- If player stands, the banker hits of five or less. If the bettor hits, a chart might be used in order to judge if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The larger of the 2 scores is the winner. Winning stakes on the banker pay 19 to 20 (even money less a five % commission. Commission is kept track of and cleared out when you leave the table so make sure that you have cash left before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay 1 to one. Winner bets for tie usually pays out at 8 to 1 but on occasion nine to 1. (This is a terrible bet as ties will happen lower than 1 every 10 hands. Definitely don’t try placing bets on a tie. However odds are actually better – 9 to 1 vs. 8 to 1)

When played correctly, baccarat provides relatively decent odds, aside from the tie bet obviously.

Baccarat Strategy

As with all games, Baccarat has some common misconceptions. 1 of which is quite similar to a roulette myth. The past is not an indicator of future events. Keeping track of prior outcomes on a chart is for sure a waste of paper and a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.

The most established and possibly most successful method is the 1-three-2-six method. This tactic is used to boost profits and limiting risk.

commence by betting 1 unit. If you win, add one more to the 2 on the table for a total of 3 on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have six on the table, clear away 4 so you have 2 on the 3rd bet. If you win the third wager, add two to the 4 on the table for a sum total of six on the 4th wager.

If you don’t win on the initial bet, you take a loss of 1. A win on the first bet quickly followed by loss on the second creates a loss of 2. Wins on the first two with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the 4th mean you break even. Coming out on top on all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of 10. Therefore you can get beaten the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
