Baccarat Rules

Baccarat Protocols

Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards in a shoe. Cards with less than a value of 10 are valued at their printed number while ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each equal to 1. Wagers are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual contenders; they merely represent the 2 hands to be played).

Two hands of 2 cards will then be given to the ‘banker’ as well as ‘player’. The total for each hand will be the total of the two cards, but the very first digit is dropped. For e.g., a hand of seven and five gives a tally of two (sevenplusfive=12; drop the ‘one’).

A third card can be given depending on the following rules:

- If the bettor or banker has a tally of 8 or nine, both bettors stand.

- If the bettor has 5 or less, he/she hits. Players stand otherwise.

- If gambler stands, the banker hits of five or lower. If the bettor hits, a chart will be used in order to judge if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The greater of the two scores wins. Victorious wagers on the banker pay out nineteen to twenty (even odds minus a five percent commission. Commission is monitored and cleared out when you leave the table so make sure to have cash left before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay 1 to 1. Winner bets for tie as a rule pay 8 to one but occasionally 9 to 1. (This is a bad gamble as ties occur less than 1 every ten hands. be cautious of putting money on a tie. Nonetheless odds are somewhat better – 9 to 1 versus eight to 1)

Played smartly, baccarat provides relatively decent odds, away from the tie wager obviously.

Baccarat Tactics

As with just about every games, Baccarat has some common misconceptions. 1 of which is similar to a roulette myth. The past is not a predictor of future events. Monitoring of prior outcomes on a chart is definitely a waste of paper … a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.

The most popular and possibly most successful strategy is the one-3-two-six method. This plan is deployed to boost successes and lowering risk.

Begin by wagering 1 unit. If you win, add one more to the 2 on the table for a total of three on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, clear away four so you have two on the third bet. If you win the 3rd bet, add 2 to the 4 on the table for a grand total of 6 on the fourth wager.

If you don’t win on the initial wager, you take a loss of 1. A win on the first bet followed up by loss on the 2nd brings about a loss of two. Wins on the 1st two with a loss on the third gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first three with a loss on the 4th mean you breakeven. Attaining a win on all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of 10. Therefore you can lose the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
