Baccarat Principles
Baccarat is gambled on with 8 decks of cards in a shoe. Cards below ten are counted at face value while Ten, Jack, Queen, King are zero, and Ace is 1. Bets are made on the ‘banker’, the ‘player’, or on a tie (these are not really people; they simply represent the two hands to be dealt).
Two hands of two cards are then given to the ‘bank’ and ‘gambler’. The score for every hand is the sum total of the cards, although the first number is dropped. For instance, a hand of five and six has a score of one (five plus six equals 11; dump the initial ‘one’).
A additional card might be dealt using the rules below:
- If the gambler or house gets a value of 8 or 9, the two players hold.
- If the gambler has less than 5, she takes a card. Players holds otherwise.
- If the gambler holds, the house takes a card on 5 or lower. If the player takes a card, a table is used to figure out if the banker stands or hits.
Baccarat Banque Odds
The larger of the two scores wins. Winning bets on the banker payout 19 to 20 (even money less a 5% commission. The Rake is kept track of and cleared out when you quit the game so be sure to still have funds left over before you leave). Winning bets on the player pays 1 to 1. Winning bets for a tie frequently pays 8 to 1 but sometimes 9:1. (This is a poor bet as a tie occurs less than 1 in every ten hands. Be wary of betting on a tie. Although odds are substantially better for 9 to 1 vs. 8:1)
Bet on correctly punto banco gives relatively decent odds, apart from the tie bet of course.
Punto Banco Strategy
As with all games punto banco has a few established misunderstandings. One of which is close to a false impression in roulette. The past is not an indicator of events about to happen. Keeping track of previous outcomes on a page of paper is a poor use of paper and an insult to the tree that gave its life for our stationary desires.
The most familiar and probably the most successful strategy is the one-three-two-six plan. This tactic is employed to build up profits and minimizing losses.
Begin by placing one chip. If you win, add another to the 2 on the game table for a sum total of three units on the second bet. Should you succeed you will now have 6 on the table, remove 4 so you keep two on the third wager. Should you come away with a win on the third round, add two to the four on the game table for a total of six on the fourth round.
Should you don’t win on the initial round, you take a hit of 1. A profit on the first round followed by a hit on the second brings about a loss of 2. Wins on the first two with a hit on the 3rd provides you with a gain of two. And success on the first three with a hit on the 4th means you are even. Winning at all 4 wagers leaves you with 12, a profit of 10. This means you are able to lose the second round 5 instances for each successful streak of 4 wagers and in the end, balance the books.
