Rules of Baccarat

Baccarat Protocols

Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards. Cards with less than a value of 10 are valued at their printed value meanwhile ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each applied a value of 1. Wagers are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual persons; they merely represent the 2 hands to be dealt).

Two hands of two cards will now be given out to the ‘banker’ as well as ‘player’. The total for every hand shall be the sum total of the 2 cards, but the very first digit is discarded. For example, a hand of 7 as well as five will have a total score of two (sevenplus5=12; drop the ‘one’).

A 3rd card can be dealt depending on the following regulations:

- If the gambler or banker has a total of 8 or 9, then both gamblers stand.

- If the gambler has five or lower, he hits. gamblers stand otherwise.

- If player stands, the banker hits of 5 or lower. If the gambler hits, a chart shall be used to see if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The larger of the two scores will be the winner. Winning wagers on the banker pay at 19 to twenty (even money minus a 5% commission. Commission is tracked and moved out when you leave the table so make sure you have dollars still before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay 1 to 1. Winner bets for tie usually pay 8 to 1 and on occasion nine to 1. (This is a crazy bet as ties happen less than 1 every 10 hands. be wary of placing bets on a tie. Regardless odds are remarkably better – 9 to one vs. 8 to one)

When played accurately, baccarat offers pretty good odds, apart from the tie wager obviously.

Baccarat Tactics

As with every games, Baccarat has some well-known misunderstandings. One of which is very similar to a roulette myth. The past is in no way an indicator of future events. Keeping track of historic results on a chart is a total waste of paper … a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.

The most accepted and probably most successful technique is the one-three-2-6 concept. This technique is used to build up wins and limiting risk.

start by wagering one unit. If you win, add one more to the two on the table for a total of 3 on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, take away four so you have two on the 3rd bet. If you win the third wager, add two to the 4 on the table for a sum of six on the 4th wager.

If you don’t win on the initial bet, you take a loss of one. A win on the first bet quickly followed by loss on the second causes a loss of 2. Wins on the first 2 with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the fourth mean you breakeven. Winning at all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of 10. Therefore that you can fail to win the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
